Last Monday at the Albany Bulb was great fun! The little ones took pictures with the shark sculpture, enjoyed the beautiful views, ate all the snacks, and a few even explored the tide pools and found crabs hiding under the rocks! This week we are looking to get in a bit more distance so we're going to explore a stroller-friendly trail at Point Pinole. Don't worry - we will still go at a toddler pace for the little ones that prefer to explore on their own!
Sniffles or coughs?
Although we are an outdoor activity, we ask that if you or a little one is sick that you stay home and adventure with us the following week when well. This helps our group to be inclusive of our immunocompromised members, and mindful that many of our attendees are starting school soon and exposure to a cough or runny nose would be a rough start to their year! We are hiking, but the kids often play, hold hands, share snacks, and talk closely. Thank you!
Meltdowns Happen!
Are you nervous about your kid having a meltdown while on a hike? It happens to all of us and if there's one thing caregivers of little people have, it's understanding of the emotional roller coaster that is early childhood. We encourage you to come out, meltdowns and all, and feel the support of this group helping each other.
Planning to come?
Hooray! We are so excited to hike with you. No need to RSVP - but if you need help getting a kiddo into a carrier or are running late please shoot us a text at 341-205-1530. We are here to help you!!

Cell reception? Yes
Open water? Sort of - we will see water but won't be walking along it for the majority. At one spot we will play at a rocky beach.

We'll be headed to the Owl Alley Trail from the Atlas Entrance to Point Pinole Regional Shoreline. There is a large lot for parking, and we'll meet up by the bathrooms and then hike along the trail headed to the right until we meet up with Owl Alley Trail and take a left turn, following it out to the point. We might not go all the way to the point and stop and play instead at a small rocky beach near a picnic area depending on how the group is feeling. This is an easy, wide trail that is often shared with dogs and their humans. It's a great one to bring a rugged stroller for the littlest hikers and some waterproof shoes for toe-dipping fun!
Of course, bring all the snacks, water, hats/sunscreen, some water-friendly shoes, and a rugged stroller!
